WhatsApp business account in WhatsApp Manager allows your business to use the WhatsApp Business API to connect and interact directly with customers. However, one must sign up for a Business manager and complete business verification to avail of this service. The WhatsApp business account can only be created after the business verification is complete and approved by WhatsApp.

1. Create a Facebook Business Manager

How to sign up for Business Manager:

i. Go to business.facebook.com
ii. Click “Create Account.”
iii. Enter your business name
iv. Select the primary page and enter your name along with your official email id
Note: If you don’t yet have a page for your business, you will have to create one.
v. Move through the rest of the onboarding flow by entering the rest of the required fields.

2. Verify the Facebook Business Manager

Well, you need to complete business verification to be able to send a message from your WhatsApp Business account. What all you need to do is upload an official document that matches the business’s legal name you entered. Any discrepancy in the document name may lead to rejection.

To start the verification process:

i. Go to Security Center and click Start Verification in the Business Verification section
ii. Enter your business details and click Next
iii. Verify the Legal Business Name: Upload Official Documents that are required
iv. Verify the Business Address or Phone Number: Upload a document that shows both the legal names of your business and the mailing address or phone number shown on the screen.

3. Share verified Business Manager ID

Share your Facebook Business Manager ID with the vendor you opt for to create your WhatsApp Account.
To find your Business Manager ID:

i. Go to Business Settings
ii. Click Business Info.
iii. Below Business Manager Info, you’ll see your ID number

4. Create WhatsApp for your Business

Your WhatsApp partner can now get your WhatsApp Business Account created using your Business Name and Facebook Business Manager ID Provided by you.

5. Approval: Business gets the invite

WhatsApp business account verification will be done once the WhatsApp account is created; you will then have to accept the Invitation from BSP to send messages on your behalf on the business. Once you approve the request, your WhatsApp account is set- up, and you’re good to go!

To approve the request:

i. Go to business.facebook.com
ii. Click on Business Settings
iii. Now select Requests.
iv. You will see a pending request.
v. Click “Approve”.

Note: The account will not be approved if your Business Manager is not verified.

WhatsApp Business account needs to meet WhatsApp policy requirements to use the WhatsApp Business API. The business may have to comply with both – Commerce & Business Policy

6. Complete WhatsApp Account SET-UP

Certain information will be required from the brand to complete the WhatsApp Account Setup, and below is the checklist:

• Business & Display name
• Phone Number, Address, Website
• Company description (up to 130 characters)
• Company logo (min 300×300 px) – square proportions (.JPG format)
• Contact e-mail
• Facebook page (Optional)

You will be asked for your contact number and a WhatsApp display name associated with the contact number to use the WhatsApp Business API.

Your official WhatsApp account is all Set!
